League Table

This is the final league table for the pre-Christmas games (the league table published by the league is actually incorrect (!), but it doesn't affect us).

The new leagues have been drawn, we are in the third tier called 'La Liga'. The fixtures are above and the new league table is below.

Players Stats and Reviews

The Under 10 team used a total of 19 players over the season, including a few U9 players. Here are the stats for the players.

CONNOR SCOTT (28 games, 0 goals, 3 man of the matches). The team's regular goalkeeper who developed as the season progressed and as he gained confidence in his own ability. Certainly improved his handling and communication with the more games he played.

ALFIE WRIGHT (28 games, 0 goals, 1 man of the match). The team's Mr Reliable. Reads the game very well for someone of his age and his willingness to hold his position proved important time and again. Despite often playing against bigger opponents, his timing of tackles and interceptions was impressive.

KIERAN SMITH (29 games, 12 goals, 4 man of the matches). Captain and ever present who played equally well in both defence and midfield. A tough tackler whose goal record was impressive given his numberof starts at the back.

RORY SMITH (1 game + 1 sub, 0 goals, 0 man of the matches). Once again, rugby took preference for Rory, but he would have been an excellent addition to the team had he been available more often. Quick, strong and direct, his ability stood out in training.

RHYAN CLARK (24 games + 2 sub, 8 goals, 7 man of the matches). A skillful player with natural ability and a desire to play the game. A good dribbler and taker of set pieces, Rhyan had an excellent first season with the club, chipping in with some great goals.

MATTHEW DAVIS (9 games + 2 sub, 0 goals, 0 man of the matches). Matthew left mid-season to play rugby, but played well in the early games, adding balance to the team being left footed.

ELLIOT BUCHANAN (23 games + 3 sub, 14 goals, 2 man of the matches). Leading scorer, on his day, Elliot is a dangerous, pacy striker who finishes well. Always prepared to run at defenders, Elliot benefited from playing up a year last season.

GABRIEL FARTHING (12 games + 11 sub, 4 goals, 0 man of the matches). Utility player, most often played in midfield, he nevertheless came up with some important and decisive goals for the team. Enthusiastic and committed, Gabriel always gets stuck in for the team.

MAX WILSON (3 games + 8 sub, 2 goals, 0 man of the matches). U9 player who gained experience in the first half of the season and weighed in with a couple of goals. Wholehearted competitor, he will have gained experience of teamplay for future seasons.

THOMAS FAWCETT (3 games + 6 sub, 0 goals, 0 man of the matches). Another U9 player who played well in midfield and showed maturity in some of his performances. Hopefully can develop amongst his own age next season.

ALEX DOYLE (4 games + 7 sub, 0 goals, 0 man of the matches). Used primarily as a defender, Alex's game developed as the season progressed and as he gained confidence and knowledge of team play. A physical presence in the team, his mobility and awareness improved markedly with experience.

DAMIAN ADAMSON (0 games + 5 sub, 0 goals, 0 man of the matches). Another U9 player given some run outs, his performances in training in the latter part of the season bodes well for U10 level next season. Has ability which can be hopefully harnessed into a team framework.

STEFAN THOMSON (23 games, 8 goals, 7 man of the matches). Joined the club in the late autumn and consistently performed to a high level showing tenacity, drive and skill. All action performer, he weighed in with many goals from a central midfield position.

SPENCER BROWN (0 games + 4 sub, 1 goal, 0 man of the matches). A pacy U9 player who grabbed a goal on one of his substitute appearances. Has an eye for goal and will develop when playing regularly and gaining an appreciation of teamplay.

EUAN DARROCH (0 games + 2 sub, 0 goals, 0 man of the matches). Another U9 player given a couple of games. Almost scored in both, Euan had developed during the season and has shown an inprovement in strength and awareness in latter training sessions.

FINN FARTHING (0 games + 3 sub, 0 goals, 0 man of the matches). Another U9 player, Finn has skill which will hopefully develop when playing with his peers next season where it will not be so physically challenging. A keen and intelligent player.

EVAN JACKSON (0 games + 1 sub, 0 goals, 0 man of the matches). Evan just played the 1 game having joined mid season. Has undoubtedly improved as a player and strikes a good shot when the opportunity arises. Will benefit like all the U9s from some regular teamplay.

FRASER GASCOIGNE (14 games + 1 sub, 1 goal, 2 man of the matches). Joined mid season and proved a strong addition to the teams midfield. Has a physical presence allied to a strong shot, Fraser contributed well in the second half of the season.

FRASER GARLAND (2 games + 7 sub, 0 goals, 0 man of the matches). Fraser joined late in the season and proved a useful squad player when called upon. Played in both defence and midfield where he showed strength and stamina.
